Joe Brown Bio
Coach Joe is a dedicated coach, leader, and mentor to youth athletes with more than 9 years of experience coaching youth baseball, football, and basketball. Joe has lived in Kansas City for the past 20 years after graduating from Iowa State University, and brings an engaging approach to developing young athletes both on and off the field. Joe brings a positive, thoughtful, intentional approach with passion to youth sports coaching that balances competitive development with character growth that can be utilized through all of life experiences. He strongly believes in bringing the same passion to the game that is required in other aspects of life; athletes get out of the game what they give!
Joe believes youth sports are about mindset and intention; focusing on building belief in oneself, creating trust within the team while getting 1% better every day. His coaching philosophy centers on teaching effort, consistency, resilience, teamwork, confidence, and strong fundamentals—while creating an environment where athletes feel supported, challenged, and excited to learn the game. He is intentional about building team culture, emphasizing accountability, sportsmanship, and growth at every stage of development.
Outside of coaching, Joe is an experienced professional leader with a background in managing large scale programs, teams, and driving strategic execution within organizations in the healthcare industry. In his free time, he enjoys spending time at his kid's sporting events, traveling, watching the Kansas City Royals and Chiefs, Cyclone football and basketball, going to concerts, and spending time with his family.
