Jimmy Smith Bio

Jimmy was born in Colorado Springs, CO, but moved to Kansas City, MO at a young age. He attended St. Ann Catholic School in Prairie Village, KS, where he played baseball, basketball and soccer.

Jimmy attended Bishop Miege High School, in Roeland Park, KS from 1997-2000, where he continued his athletic career in baseball, basketball and soccer. He was a true utility baseball player, specializing in middle infield and pitching, but often playing outfield and catcher throughout his high school career. He was a lead-off hitter, who loved to make pitchers crazy with a good eye, ability to bunt for base hits and used his speed to steal his share of bases.

After tearing his ACL and MCL his senior basketball season, he decided to stay close to home and see where he could continue his education and baseball career. Jimmy received a baseball scholarship to attend Benedictine College, in Atchison KS, where he played baseball from 2000-2003. At Benedictine College, he transitioned to outfield, rotating between centerfield and rightfield.

As an active participant in year-round youth sports, Jimmy learned the value of teamwork, dedication and sacrifice at a young age. As a young student athlete, he took pride in being present, working hard and understanding the importance of doing the little things, even when no one is looking. As he looks back on his 17 years of youth and young adult athletics, he attributes the many life lessons he learned and keeps with him today as a professional in Corporate America, a husband and a father to his time in athletic competition. These lessons and skills that have helped craft who he is, come from a strong group of coaches, teammates and sports community. I hope to be able to provide an even better opportunity to young athletes in our community today as a coach with the Naturals Baseball Club.
